Region: Nyeri County, Karundu Central Kenya.

Process: Washed. 
There are two harvesting seasons in Kenya. The main harvest takes places between April and November (60% of total harvest.) The second harvest takes place between December and July, and reaches 40% of the total volume. In Kenya exporters do not buy the coffee from cooperatives or plantations directly but in auctions that are held by the state every couple of weeks. Roughly 570 smallholder farms deliver to the Karundu wet mill, one of eight wet mills com- prising Rugi Famers Co-operative Society. This coffee was grown in Nyeri County on the foothills of both the Aberdare mountain range and Mt. Kenya at 1900 meters above sea level in red volcanic soils rich in organic matter.
